Article out of date?
elomega Updated - 19th Jun 2009
I think some IOS images are now too large to be transferred with TFTP
I'm not sure about size, but would say you really want to use FTP or HTTP anyway since they're faster and more reliable. Many newer models even support HTTPS and SCP.

These also let you force authentication, which is a good idea to ensure your IOS images don't slip in to the wrong hands.
Wondering about the whole GA vs ED thing... when I look up IOSes for my 3750G-48PS the only software that is listed is ED - do they do GA anymore?

I've also noticed this and wish Cisco would provide some guidance. For example I have hit some nasty bugs in the 12.2 SEE train but no problems with 12.2 SE on the 3560 and 3750. On the 6500s lots of problems with SXD but SXF has been great.
Good as it goes. But I have a similar problem, namely upgrading from a Linksys BEFW11S4 router to a Linksys WRT160N, and I'm having an awful time with it. Any sage advice from Mr. Davis?

it is one of the many reasons people are happy with Linksys hardware.
Just grab the latest v24sp2 - generic and you're off to a fresh start without hassles and a gateway/router that just works
