While the concept of this device seems useful, I would be VERY wary of buying anything from Plextor ever again.
As a company, they are completely unresponsive to customer's needs, and their M.O. is to just ignore a problem.
I had one of their DVD burners die within a month of going off warranty. When I called their "tech support" number (poorly named, at best) they basically told to take a hike. If it had been "just a day or two off warranty, maybe, but not after 13 months."
Figuring that it was just a fluke, I bought another Plextor burner. This one also died after 14 months.
I again called their "un-help desk", and was again told to pound salt.
My request to have a manager call me went unheeded. I have written 2 letters to the address shown in their literature, and these have been unanswered. They have not responded to my e-mails either.
I would strongly urge people to avoid buying anything marketed by Plextor until they show a willingness to stand behind their products, and respond to customer concerns.
