It makes all the difference!
Back in the day when we were building PCs we purchased some Panasonic/Milwaukee electric screwdrivers. They fit comfortably in your hand, would bend 45 degrees to be either a 'stick' type or a 'gun' configuration and had a really nice adjustable clutch. It had one removable, rechargable battery that was used and it slipped in the handle like a pistol ammo clip. These were well over $100 apiece but they were invaluable.
Problem was, they came with these stubby little screwdriver bits. We found some 6" bits in a supply catalog and purchased a bunch of them. Then we went to Radio Shack and bought a magnetizer. Run the bit through the center hole and it would pick up another screwdriver, run it on the outside and it wouldn't pick up a staple. Amazing and like magic!
To this day, I have trouble with screwdrivers if they aren't magnetized. I know that some techs freak out about magnetism near computers, but that is a bunch of bunk. They could affect floppies, but when was the last time you used a floppy???
