RE: What does Google Chrome OS really mean for Linux?
The Google Chrome OS is another offering from the Linux community that is trying to jockey for some position against the Microsoft Juggernaught. Suffice to say that should Linux make head way at getting into many machines sold or even wiped and reloaded with the new OS, it would be very devastating to Microsoft's bottom line in the long run because the often bloated and broken Microsoft Windows is an favorite target of virus and malware programmers who would otherwise be making great software for the rest of the world to use.
Google Chrome OS will make its debut soon and with the likes of Ubuntu and other versions of Linux out there, it should make a huge splash in an already murky pond of Linux water.
