What exactly IS the current status of VBA? I started writing macros for Lotus, then WordPerfect, and then shifted to Office apps as my employer shifted standard packages. I found that macros really increased the power of the underlying application. But then Microsoft (or the media?) suggested that MS was dropping VBA in favor of Visual Studio. My employer effectively limits Visual Studio to IT personnel so that kills macro development by power users. However, VBA continues to exist but I have no idea about its status now or in the future. I really don't want to invest any time in a product on life support (remember my references to Lotus and WordPerfect), but really miss creating productivity boosts with VBA.
