LMAO, you are RIGHT ON about the ITIL/PMP talk. In fact, that is THE #1 sign of incompetence!

Those types don't let the door hit them in the butt at 5:00, while the technical team works late into the night to deliver on a deadline which the manger or PM may have committed them to (with no clue as to its feasibility). Then they throw a hissy fit in the next project status meeting because they have to extend the arrow representing the construction phase of the project.

Sorry, but I have yet to meet a PM with no app dev experience who was worth squat. I've blown them off and turned to Scrum. It may not make for pretty pictures to show the stakeholders, but the work gets done.

PMBOK is terribly overrated, in my opinion.
