You've obviously never dealt with someone from New York City, to them there's New York and everywhere else. If you're not in New York, then you're everywhere else. They actually sell novelty world maps that show 90% of the surface of the world being New York. Unfortunately some of the locals seem unaware that these maps are spoofs.
