Employee at will in most US states. The way the company can kick you out with a 5 minute notice (and most will, especially in IT related situations), the same way it's your right to give a 5 minute notice.
I think even situations where IT personnel gives x weeks notice, but is then asked to leave immediately aren't rare (because of "security concerns")
Just wondering if (in the US) the company is still required to pay you the two weeks, or if it's still their right to fire you even after you gave notice.
