I found a better way to attach a WORD doc is to use the menu file, send to, mail recipient. Word will put the 'to', 'subject', and 'bcc' blocks on the top and you can send from there.
If you send WORD doc as an attachment, the recipient can use the undo and properties to (perhaps) see more than you want them to see. The inline WORD doc-as-email prevents that.
If I must send a doc attachment, I convert to pdf format first.
