There is anti-virus for the Mac; granted it sits there waiting like the Maytag repair man, but it exists for a reason. I employ many types of tools, from behavior-based anti-virus to port scanners and more, to assure both my Mac and Windows networks stay clean. Anything less would be irresponsible.
