IF you are running or trying to run any software that may change to system you must provide a Root password before the orperation will start.
I am not bashing LINUX I love it. But it is not for many of my users, no skill or desire to learn no software.
Secure maybe right now it lake Mac is just not a big enough target.

Lets discuss this when Linux hits 20 million plus users.
