Resize RAID 5 Partition with Partition Magic Server Software
michaellj 26th Oct 2011
I never test Acronis Disk Director, it is too expensive. Partition Magic only works with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP. It can not support Server. As Partition Magic Server Software, Partition Assistant Server can handle RAID partition. It helps me resize RAID 5 partition easily and keep all data intact. perfect!

Hi everyone,

I have a Dell Poweredge 4300 that I setup using a RAID 5 config. My C:\ drive(system volume) has only 350Mb space left and I would like to find something that can successfully resize the partition without losing data as this is a production server.

But I used Acronis Disk Director and Partition Magic to deal with it but failed. Have any other SW could resize it?

Thank you in advance.

I have successfully resized partitions on RAID5. In fact, it is not hard to create, delete, resize or do other job on RAID5, it is detected as a physical hard drive. I also used the SW you referred but also failed. Finally, I used easeus partition master to deal with it. It is cheap, easy to use and operate on disk map in main window. see this article, there is more detailed instructions, http://www.partition-tool.com/resource/expand-raid5-partition.htm
