Of course!
Considering the MONUMENTAL changes with each major version of Windows -- one should naturally expect a certain amount of rework to update the applications.

Let's face it, the vast majority of the codebase in today's UNIX is probably older than the vast majority the coders using it.

I suppose there are still a few people out there who are only comfortable using 20-year-old console-based applications to process overnight batch jobs on flat text files...
