RE: The big Linux Achilles: Documentation
Whilst I am an enthusiast for the Open Source concept, I am not a techie and I guess I'm getting a bit long in the tooth to learn. Looking back, I became relatively competent with MS windows by just using the OS over a number of years. One of the problems I have experienced is that using Linux (Ubuntu 9.1), if I experiment with the settings to learn something, I am frequently unable to restore the OS to its original state without a great deal of research and often I have to re-install the OS. My point is that for a non-technical person, Linux is not user orientated. Canonical try very hard but they are not there yet. I hope they don't stop trying because I won't stop using their software. It just won't be the main OS.
