So, I'm unsure exactly how much checking you did before writing your article, but I installed PC-BSD on my Lenovo T61 without issue, using the graphical installer. I installed FreeBSD on my workstation at the office using the graphical installer without issue either.
@deksar: Don't be a moronic zealot. Unlike you, I encourage people to install operating systems they know nothing about. One of the greatest ways to learn is to do it yourself. I'll help if I can, but I find that a lot of people want to explore a new OS on their own and get comfortable at their pace, not mine.
