RE: (RIM BlackBerry 9700 (photos))
I've got mine since 2 weeks now. It's my first BlackBerry, bought as replacement for my 1 year old HTC HD. Well, the 9700 has a very professional menu system and I do not miss the touch features nor the size of the huge (and energy consuming) screen of the HD. The 9700 works well but is far from being pefect. System stability seems fairly good, but is I experimented some bugs(v5.0.0.321). Provided apps are OK, I downloaded some more. The application catalog is not impressive compared to other mobile platforms, apps themselves may look a bit oldfashionned to HTC or iPhone users. The hardware looks very nice, but quality is not at the best. The keybord is OK, but pressing upper buttons makes distorsions appear on the screen. Light leeking on the sides of the casing is noticeable and gives a cheap aspect while in the dark. The plastic does not seem to be very solid, especially the nice looking chrome parts. My 9700 came with tiny scratches on the chrome top back side of the casing ... seems very cheap. The best part of this smartphone is it's size. The worst ... maybe the voice dialing command : it drives me crazy, didn't dial right even once !
