I have lost administrative rights before removing malware.... and sometimes again after. Superantispyware has been an excellant program for me (albeit one friend's computer completely crashed after I ran it, it was so infected!) I now use Superantispyware, MalwareBytes, and sometimes Avira. I have Norton's security suite, but I don't trust it to find anything. As for losing adminstrative rights it was one clue a computer was infected, and System restore wouldn't work, etc. In the end I resorted to a backup image. Thank goodness it was recent, and I have a backup to the backup.
Some how I cannot convince others that McAfee is just crap! Anyone else have this problem?
