updates on the Devour

http://www.techrepublic.com/forum/discussions/102-327585-3261180

I thought I would post a couple of notes as an "update" on this review. The reason I reviewed a phone with version 1.6 of Android is because that is the OS that shipped with the phone and I had limited time with the device. I would have run an upgrade, but this leads to another issue - One of my other phones (one which served as a basis for comparison) is the HTC Hero. HTC is REALLY dragging their feet on upgrading Android (so much so I have almost retracted every good thing I have had to say about that device). because of this, my phone is at version 1.56. So it made for a more fair speed comparison with the Devour. As far as networking speeds...my comparison was based on the two Android machines plus a Droid (running an updated OS) and an iPhone 3G. The Devour blew all three phones away with regards to networking speeds and OS speed.I hope that clears up any confusion on this review.
