Apple iPhone OS 4.0: A look at the seven tentpole apps

Does this mean with the OS 4 coming out in the fall that iPad users will have the ability to multi-task? Will the hardware support the new OS 4 for iPad?

I am curious because I will be one of the ones upgrading to the new iPhone as well as I am considering buying a iPad instead of buying a Mac.

Whats the point? I had a first generation iphone initially when it came out then I went to Tmobile G1, recently I decided to go back to iphone and got myself a 3gs. However, now I am hating it as I realize that Apple has improved at one thing only and that is at their psychotic control freak nature. I wish I had just gone with Droid.

are these tentpole apps going to be available for the Iphone 3GS???
