It's not the distro but the community
In my humble opinion the best Linux distribution is the distrubution with the most frendly community for newbies. Just visit a community site decicated to a specific distribution (Ubuntu for example) an read some submissions and reactions to real newbie questions. If the attitude of the responders and the value of the answers gives you a good feeling then I think you have found your distribution. If you see to many "rtfm" answers from people with a very cocky and not very helpfull attitude: Don't hope on any help at all and try your luck elswhere.
