It seems we've forgotten...
that there was a time when all these operating systems were new to EVERYONE.
I can remember how the users I supported in '93 got so nervous and upset when they had to move from DOS with menu systems to Windows 3.11, to 95, NT, etc. Note that the first move, from DOS to Windows 3.x, was the most challenging. Very few of these users had ever used a GUI.
There was a period of adjustment each time that for many users, lasted MONTHS. It was a learning curve that was accepted and worked through.
People will use what they have available. They may complain, as my users did, but they'll do what they have to. And given enough time and practice, they'll excel at what they're doing.
I think that the Linux 'naysayers' here are selling their users short.
