AVG sold me
After running an infected computer against ESET, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Spybot Search and Destroy, and AVG free natively, the spyware remained. I had heard AVG had a rescue CD and tried it. It found an additional 15 infections which resolved the issue. AVG had a fairly easy to use interface. Now that I hear Avira has a better detection signatures I'll try it next time. Thanks for the independent research.
