Warranty Admin / IT Manager
Yes, I just could not understand why in heavens name would a company make a warranty admin into an IT Manager and then have the nerve to make her the boss over someone with over 20+ years IT experience, even though her boss knows she has the people skills of a chimpanzee. Never once in four years has she said, "Good job" or invited the IT staff into a meeting. Everything was always about her, but if something went wrong, YOU DID IT. I remember times in other REAL jobs when a manager stood by their workers; NO, this manager should have been fired for the hostile working environment she created, that the company executives dismissed. She once told a DB Pro that if he did not unplug his external speakers from his PC, that it would cause the on board sound card to self destruct. No computer user ever called her for support, because she would belittle and yell at them and made them feel stupid. There was also a bogus IP inserted into a users computer configuration that sent it to look for DNS to an outside location. When I tried to reset it correctly, she yelled that she did not want it touched. I reset it the correct way, despite her stupidity. Of course when we were getting our new VM systems installed this year by outside vendors, my enterprise admin privedgles were revoked and I was setup as a local admin. I was told that we could not have full access to the system because the vendor needed to get it fully operational with out interference. As time went on, I realized she was lying to me and I told her to her face, "I do not trust you one bit". Unfortunately, I signed my death warrant, and on July 01, 2010 I was laid off. Moral of the story...if you need the job, don't say anything and scum to a rule of fear, or quit.
