The idea behind Sticky Notes in Windows 7 is pretty simple. Instead of writing the not on a piece of paper and sticking it to the side of your monitor, you can create a digital sticky note and stick in on your Windows desktop.

But just because they're digital, doesn't mean user will treat them any differently. For people who write their passwords on paper sticky notes and stick them to their monitor, Windows 7 Sticky Notes let them do the same thing digitally. Have you seen people do this? Take the poll and let me know.

The smaller the business, the more "daring" the info on the Sticky Notes.

Name it. More personal info than I'd be comfortable sharing with the wife ...
Why exult Windows 7 when it's only Vista made to work?

If I remember correctly, Sticky Notes were available on Mac OS9, and have been through all the incarnations of OSX.

Just buy a Mac and begin to live!

Ah!! Palmetto, methinks one is enslaved to Bill Gates, and he just takes the bucks and runs.
I'm perfectly capable of spotting a troll without compensation. Check my history; you'll find I've posted the same comment multiple times, replacing 'Apple' with 'Windows' or 'Linux' as appropriate. A few weeks ago I was accused of being an Apple shill and getting kickbacks from Jobs. I encourage you to be more active than you've been in the past; you may start to notice trends in the post of many members and can get a more rounded idea of where they're coming from.
Why must you argue over which OS is best? It's not like it matters. All of them suck in their own way... sheesh.
Very good tip . It will be very helpful and handy! as part of my resolution to go paperless
I can't understand why to make a note with almost the same information in almost a month of difference?
Thanks Bill! Your 5 minute videos help me stay on top of my game (if that is possible). I feel much more comfortable using Sticky Notes after hearing your message. Gracias!

I'm glad you find our TR Dojo video helpful. Thanks again!
Nice, thought it was cool in the beginning of the video, the person was sticking the note to a Mac not a PC. Stickies have been on Macs forever. happy

I thought so too...the irony... Was that the first clip they found in the archives which fit the narration? Just a coincidence that it was a MAC? And did they notice? Wow.
The monitor shown in that clip is actually for our studio teleprompter--an old 19" Dell LCD connected to an even older Mac Mini.

Is it possible to put a sticky note on someone else's user account so that when they login, they will see this new sticky note?
That's an interesting question.

I'm not aware of a way to leave a Sticky Note on another account via the Windows 7 GUI, but you might be able to do so by manually manipulating the Sticky Notes files.

I'll do a little digging and find out.
Should there be a way to VIEW sticky notes in different ways, like MS Outlook Calendar? - list, week, month, etc? And with a right click on the stiky note task bar icon, should there be a search option?
Of course the shortcut works only with the native (English) version of Windows 7:-)

I always appreciate the feedback. Thanks!
How do I obtain that long script to search through sticky notes?
Great video on the use of Sticky Notes and the Search function is outstanding and works well on Win 7 32 bit.
However, is does not function when used in the 64bit version of Win 7.
Can you provide instructions on how to modify the Search script for use in win 7 64 bit?

I've run into the same issue ... the short cut shown does not function correctly on my 64-bit version of Win 7. Is there an alternate script available? TIA, Jim
Say, if a user is migrating to another machine, or if the user leaves and his boss or replacement needs his notes on their machines?
