BlueRay... stop gap? maybe. It's also the media of choice for home 3D (along side that HDMI 1.4 connection and those 120Hz 3D TVs) LOL... it's the only media actually for that right now.

Digital Download? Maybe once fiber becomes standard to the house. I still prefer to have a say over when and where I watch movies though, even where Internet isn't available.
