The Mac mini Model: A1347 has several significant design improvements (cooling fan, user accessible RAM, etc.), but it lacks a Blu-ray drive. Some of said this puts the computer at a disadvantage as a living room media center.
Do you think the lack of a Blu-ray drive is a significant omission?

Has really come into the market. But to answer your question; It really depends on how long this device is likely to remain in the market before being updated and re-released.
DVD is still going strong these days, so they will still be used indefinitely.
Another thing to think about would probably be the kind of trade deals that Apple have had with hardware developers. If it's less cost effective and has less profit incentive then it only makes sense that they leave it out. This time, anyway.

Wow!!!Very nice hardware you got there. I think the improvement of the cooling fan makes it more "buyable". - GAR Labs
