I don't konw what they would use it could be cpu id, manufacturer's machine ID or MAC ID.

Either are risky, ie, old cpus that ship to Nigeria where they have lots of kingdoms available if only you could provide your bank account number.

BTW, device means iPhone, Android, iPad, Blackberry, netbook, etc.
