Be great to be able to print this full article to PDF. Don't see the usual print option.
The last free version was 1.5.1. If I didn't have the free version, I would pay the $30 that they are selling the current version for.

Royal TS

I actually prefer Royal TS for the simple fact I am able to set passwords on the data file, plus the ability to add additional pre-connect tasks.

Agreed.

I use it and like the way I can separate connections; by department, location, etc. Easy to manage and maintain...
Articles and discussions like this are why I keep coming back here. (Well, that and annoying Jason.) I was unaware this type of software existed. I'm eagerly anticipating getting back to the office next week and trying some of these.

Thanks. to Scott and everyone who has responded so far.

PDF PRINTABLE FORMAT OF ARTICLE

Got it.

Thanx - very useful article.
I have found that VisionApps Remote Desktop works much better and can accomodate more than just RDP connections. They have a limited trial app (15 connections) and even the paid app is not that bad (in cost). I was using the RDCMan before I switched to VisionApp.
Why use mRemote? What advantages does it have over using RDC Manager? Your original comment by itself just isn't enough to sway me...
mRemote is dead. You can still download it but no work has been done on it since 2008. It was merged into a commercial product called Visionapp Remote Desktop.
Hi everyone,

Just want to contribute with this:

mRemote has given place to mRemoteNG which is still available at www dot mremoteng dot org.

It works flawlessly and IMHO its support for multiple protocols is a must.

I can see where the latest VisionApp Remote Desktop got it's "bells and whistles". Very cool. I was easily able to add external remote control apps to the mix. Nice...

Terminals
zloeber@... 11th Aug 2010
Look on codeplex.com for a program call terminals. I've been using this for a while now and don't know that I could be half as effective in my daily tasks without it.
I user Terminals (http://terminals.codeplex.com/)... is there a compelling reason to switch to this or mRemote?
I have been using UltimateRDCMMC for years. It ships with WS 2003 (I think) and I think TechRepublic posted an article on its installation and configuration a while (years) back.
Another alternative method, is using Norton Symantec PcAnywhere which i have been using almost a decade now for big organisation.
which manages many other kinds of remote access, too..

I'm interested in this programand I'll probably test it out (always looking for new techniques). However, I have accomplished much of it just using Libraries and Jump lists. I created RDP connections for each of my servers in a folder and than I created a Library with that folder. I then Added a single RDP toolbar icon and added/pinned each one to the jump list.

Now, if I want to access a server, I right click the RDP toolbar iconand I have a full list of connections to all my servers.
Actually, I prefer MuRD. I love the layout and the ease to switch between multiple desktops right in one app. Been using this tool for several years now.

At least not on W7 64-bit.
Looks a lot like the Remote Desktops snap-in for the mmc console in Microsoft's Administrative Tools.
