BUT, would we even be aware we had? We humans have a tendency to at least attempt to destroy that which we do not understand or posess. Perhaps a "self-aware" robot ( for lack of a better term at the moment ) would see us as the barbarians we are and hide their sentience, as a matter of self-preservation ( which also has been postulated as a measure of "life", along with reproduction ). Until such time as our creation felt it could defend itself from the less-advanced Homo Sapiens, it may just lie in wait, observing and learning...
Just a thought...or was it? Perhaps the nanobots in my head told me to type this!
But they won't tell me yet, letting me think I had a thought!
