Just because we can't understand how all those facilities work...
... doesn't mean that we won't, or that we'll even need to understand them in order to create something similar. It may be that by creating something much simpler that nevertheless has the ability to learn, that creation may be able to begin to pick up on nuances at some point. What we call intuition might be nothing more than an ability to appropriate information without knowing that we are. Knowledge does not require metaknowledge.
