In by doing what you are saying, you are already creating 'Back-ups'. Are you not?
By the tone and implications of this particular Blog Post, Back-ups are not needed at all. This I find both conflicting and can be to many non IT types, or those with limited Business, Organizational, or Industrial experience, to forgo the idea that Back-ups are a very important tool.
If for nothing else when the krapp hits the proverbial fan... for the Forensics.
