BB makes a tablet... About as exciting as Martha Stewart makes a lemon cake? Steve Ballmer has another major gaffe...?
Im excited. And not sold out to the marketing of sparkly sub-par tech.
I'd hardly describe this is as anything to be excited about, RIM is largely a one trick pony, I don't know how well that will translate to a tablet like device, where you tend to be more deliberate. Unless its a small tablet, or a slightly larger than normal phone, then push email is an unneccesary gimmic.
Also, looking at their latest phone, they certainly don't have the operating system to wow anyone. Unless they're going down the route of independant operating systems for their phones, and their tablets - which is a strange choice, but then given that most of their competitors have gone for operating systems that can work on any number of devices (many regardless of the maker). If they did that though, it may be quite the brave choice. It would mean a Blackberry tablet could be more powerful, and more specific, and that may, just may give us a glimpse of where it could go with development. I doubt it though.

The browser is crap but at least it synchronises notes and tasks. Maybe not a showstopper to you BUT a showstopper to me. And as I dont use itunes or play media I have no need of an iphone. And as I do get passworded pdfs I do use RIM and Adroid on a work/personal level.
Lets not all be so dismissive of anything other than igadget and android. RIM can still hold it's head way-up-high in terms of security and quality, but it does need to build in a decent browser and user inteface somehow. Horses for courses...
Lets see what they come up with. And given that existing corporates are using secure add-on apps on the other platforms (woefull security otherwise) they still have time to stop and reverse that trend (especially given the number of times we have to use a password in my corporate case; every time we exit the app, or use another). Not much time though, and this could be their last chance before losing a large segment. Time will tell.

I think it will be more successful then Apple Ipad. They will use the existing technology they are using on their black pad for connectivity purpose and if all the application developed on Blackberry works on Black Pad which I think will work then its going to be a great success.
"Research in Motion has been quietly touting a big press event Monday in San Francisco ..."
And everything after that is speculation. Move along; nothing to see here.

Seems the device will be tethered to a blackberry.

I am waiting for someone to introduce a true competitive produce I can use. I am not a fan of Apple, but I have to say the IPad is pretty sexy. Come on with all the geeks out there, there has to be one coming!
So I wait!
So I wait!
...I expect it will be Microsoft Windows 7 Pad, or in short, Microsoft Windows Sad...?
