Considering current lithium battery technology Im kind of surprised this isn't more instances of this then there are. LI batteries have a tendency to explode out fire up both during charging and discharging and considering the way they are installed in laptops in series it kind of surprising it doesn't happen more often then it does in spite of protected batteries or not. When installed in series like that controlling them from a single point doesn't really solve the problem. Anybody who has rebuilt their laptop batteries knows aht Im talking about
