Most companies can't even get their act together to do a local or off site backup solution that would be more effective and practical. Going to the cloud is pure fantasy, not to mention all the downfalls.
Most disasters are local in nature so driving down the road to get your backup is much more realistic than waiting and wishing for the infrastructure to be fixed so you can log into the cloud for your backup.
I think this is some smart snake oil salesman's attempt to make a quick buck.
