Microsoft should stop "absorbing" and return to innovation
Time was, a large number of new ideas came from the minds at Microsoft. MS has nearly stopped innovating, and that is sad for them. They could have taken the lead in making the smarphone a full-fledged, dockable Windows 7 (not Mobile) computer one could wear on one's belt or carry in one's pocket, then dock wherever they go and use it as their primary PC. The technology exists, or is near existence. There is no reason MS couldn't (or shouldn't) be the company to pioneer this advancement in technology. Why did they stop innovating and start playing catch-up instead? How sad.
