They've certainly a right to get it wrong
They also have a need to learn from it.

As do we.

I've no problem with redoing an old problem with a new language, it's a good way to learn.
Given how many square or at best octaganal wheels there are out there, if you have the time and the enthusiam, do it your way.

One of the things I finf most offensive about the way programming is taught and learned, is the number of truly horrible habits instillied into newbies.
like building sql strings from user input, optimising for access, sort out leaks later, now we've wrote the code we'll see if it's secure.

The good enough mentality is pervasive...
