Call from Dad
While not specifically related to the topic, my dad called me at work many years ago during Christmas. I sat in a open air cubicle are along with 5 other people. We all knew each other pretty well to the depths of parents, etc. It was during Christmas and my Dad, then retired, called wanting to know the name of Sant's reindeer. This is not to unusual for my dad; he wasn't senile but was always thinking of something to do or work on. I explained to him I couldn't answer the question because of being at work. Did I mention my dad was hard of hearing? So, my cubicle buddies knew who I was talking to when my dad called. Did I also mention he was retired Navy? Being in the military, he usually didn't take no for an answer. So, knowing it was "futile to resist" I started naming the reinder. You can imagine the chuckles that I over heard. Then, my dad, realized what time it was, asked if other people were there at work. "yes dad, they're here". He even thought it was funny; yeah, dad, thanks. We hung up and I got kidded about it the rest of the morning. My dad passed a way a few years ago. I miss him.
