When Windows 95 first came out with the "classic" menu there was an awful lot of publicity about how much research/customer testing Microsoft had done to get the interface right. Since then, there has been NO publicity on any research Microsoft may have done and I can only conclude that the latest W7 menu is down to some group at Microsoft deciding we need it this way and stuff the customer.
Why should I change for change's sake? I'm quite happy with the "classic" menu - it does what I need and it does it quickly. I find just about all features in W7 take longer to do and it's less useful than previous OS.
