I lived a similar story when I worked for a cancer research and treatment company. That aspect of seeing the patients getting their treatment coupled with the doctors and nurses having problems getting to the medical information for effective patient treatment drove me to a level of excellence that I had talked about had not practiced.

It was humbling.

That is why the "objective" statement that I use on my resume says that "I want my work to make a positive difference in people's lives."
