Ok, maybe there still are a few bugs out there, but we're doing our best to address them and get them fixed. Even this weekly post will go through a few tweaks before I get it right! Thanks for everyone's patience. wink
Or desirable to link the Google Bug/Suggestion spreadsheet in a place where it can be found more easily by folks instead of having them post in the feedback thread? I understood that the TR team was using that sheet as a device to track.

I'm thinking that the thing that I missed is a sheet for "resolved" items so that they aren't cluttering the view. As soon as I get in from taking the rubbish to the curb, I'll get on that.

Oh! And can any of the team make it stop snowing? I'd really be grateful if that bug could be a priority! silly

but I can create a blog post that links to the Google bugs/suggestions spreadsheet:

Report TechRepublic bugs and offer suggestions about the 2011 upgrade
http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/tr-out-loud/report-techrepublic-bugs-and-offer-suggestions-about-the-2011-upgrade/3341
All you need is to include your rendition of, "Fast Car".

It would be more than right. It would be righteous.

Spam busting?
santeewelding Updated - 28th Jan 2011
Where did you get my number from?

Edit: Okay. I think I see. Had to be over the last weekend because, since the site change, I have been flat-out ignoring the obviously automated spam. I have no method I can see to definitively report it. I haven't dared click on the Flag thingy -- if that is what Flag is for -- expecting to cause pandemonium in the Louisville headquarters.

Tammy send me the stats from the past week. I'd still like to highlight Spam Flags and Most Votes up... it would even be fun to see who received the Most Votes down (but I wouldn't want everyone to start competing for that spot). happy
Why not Soni it sounds like fun. Now if only there was a link to the Blog that started this discussion I may know what you lot are talking about. laugh

I'm more than a bit slow today so I'm going to take a break and try to work things out. Like how to get out of this chair. Oh and for an explanation look down to my post Blaming TR for everything that happened to me yesterday. If there silly

Sorry, that's just a random ricochet from the .45 (.44 - I know)...
What I really meant to say is, go ahead press the flag thingy, it's nice and friendly and all. It may cause a random TR employee to receive an electric shock, but that's mostly harmless.
Anyway, as with all things this shiny, it has an "Are you sure?" and an "Are you really really sure?" automated restraint mechanism.
You can flag for "Spam", "Offensive" (uh-oh), "Off-Topic" and ... "Other" (Dum-dum-dum Dummm!!!), and you can leave a nice little note too, in fact it's mandatory.

I don't know about Tammikins, but Boxy can't see the comments that spam busters leave...
That's... that's not a good thing.
I wonder what happens with a post flagged as "other", then?
I was hoping it could be used to ask TR for feedback maybe... but now it sounds too risky.

.. go to the same bin as comments marked as "spam", "offensive" and "off-topic".

We do see your comments, though they come through in not the most prettiest form (it's a work in progress)

-Tammy mug
I flagged one as spam, and it just took it sans comment.
They look dead until you mouse-over! It sucks because I'm so used to dead buttons being dead until some prerequisite is met...
But thanks for the info.

Thank you. happy I try not to disappoint. Except for those occasions where I'm being entirely contrary for no readily apparent reason. shocked I endeavor to keep that to a minimum, though.

So, who sees the little comments on flagged posts? Who is notified of flags that are not spam? Hmmm. angel

And see what happens. The worst thing is that we'll break TR yet again. grin

Now lets see first mark everything from Soni as a - and then flag it as................... mischief

Sounds easy even. laugh

But there is a flagged post in this very thread. Now, no one move until the inspector reveals how the crime was committed.

he or she tells me, "Don't call me sir, I work for a living." wink

It's just a habit really, like "dude" or "guys". (Although I use 'sir" to indicate respect in particular.) If I offend, I certainly apologize.

I did confuse ThumbsUp2 by using "dude", I think, once. I guess it's a bad habit.

Oh, P.S., I'm not using "sir" to distinguish officers from enlisted in the mil sense, either. Forgot that bit.

I think this is the first time in a number of weeks that my Cafe thread didn't make it to the top discussion. Oh well, just means I should be paying more attention wink . Loved the T's by the way, they rock!

I'm slowly finding my way around, will figure it all out eventually happy

Getting a seperate blog up is nice, but we should also get that link to the top of the Feedback thread; so I made a petition:

Saved items/Favorites - Everything between 5/30/06 and 11/13/10 has gone "poof."

Contacts - Those who count me as a Contact has vanished.

Posts by Contacts - Lost in the fog.

Subscribed threads recent activity - Out looking for the above.

Print formatted view of threads - AWOL.
"TR's a modern Stone Age family!" Now, before you start going BAM BAM on your computer, looking for all those missing parts, let me do some investigative work - because some of the things you mentioned are bugs.

Oh, and I'm totally not trying to ruin your love life! I'm a 3 advocate, not a blocker. happy

You're so much nicer to talk to than Fred.

Which of those things are not bugs?
* Old favorites missing: Bug being worked on, ETA this week.
* Who's following me: Post launch change request, ETA unknown.
* My Updates: Post launch change request, ETA unknown.
* Subscribed threads: Not sure what you're talking about here. Do you mean alerts?
* Print format: This is the new expanded format.

Does that help?

I haven't been able to find the Cafe....I've been Googling discussions to find them until I figure out how to keep track of them. Maybe I'll just make a new folder in my bookmarks grin
I think all the old Off-topic discos may have gone the way of the Dodo, or of the Doo-doo, depending on perspectives.
Now we just gotta pester the PTB to find out if that's a bug or a feature!

If they had not of pushed out the redesign I wouldn't have fell over yesterday and broken my leg. Currently it's a real pain in the rear while the leg is broken it's broken in such a place they they can do nothing but let you hobble around on crutches with no Splint or Plaster and the muscle pain has to be experienced to be believed. grin

Currently I'm stuck in the chair in front of my computer and am unable to get up till someone gets over to lift me. When I get up without putting any weight on the left leg I'll be OK but at the moment I keep falling down as I get so far then my good leg buckles and down I go again. No fun at all. confused

Now who are the Web Developers so can instigate Legal Action against them? If I could actually use TR I wouldn't have been going down the stairs so it must be their fault. laugh

Anyway it's mostly a nuisance as the pain is making me slow and groggy and I'm probably making even less sense than usual as I feel all over the place now so I have no idea of just how bad this will be. silly

But on the up side I managed to avoid Emergence Surgery as the broken bit was not all the way through just a little crack where the Muscles attach to the top of the leg so there is No Bone Welding or Glue Required. Just a few weeks of Light Duties so I'm guessing that is My Holiday for this year. sick

Anyway it's all TR's Fault so I expect lots of Grovelling from the Web Developers and the rest of the staff or I'll start opening Air Lock doors. laugh

I was going down the front steps and slipped, not really sure how but I was wearing sneakers instead of thongs which are supposed to be Dangerous. wink

Anyway instead of going over to my Mothers place and helping SWMBO to mow the lawn I spent hours at the Hospital surrounded by sick people. grin

Real fun that was I might add. shocked
