I can't see investing in emulation or virtualization; the effort would be better spent on a smartphone-appropriate OS that truly integrates with Windows networks.
However, I thoroughly applaud the notion of standardized charging interfaces. As a modern family with two adult children living at home, we have, of course, 4 different phones in the house and regular visits by friends and relatives. One of our phones is a Blackberry & 3 are LG, all using mini-USB for computer sync and charging, As it happens, many of the visitor phones also use the same format. It's a real godsend that any phone can be charged at existing outlets in our home, and all of our cars. Hopefully this standardization will spread, and none of us will have to carry charging cables and adapters wherever we go!
