Report Offensive Message

I've rooted my nook, installed market, loaded apps onto it... but now I see this http://www.zdnet.com/blog/mobile-gadgeteer/nook-color-gets-official-update-to-make-it-a-real-android-tablet/4642?tag=nl.e550. Does anyone know if that will be incompatible with the changes I've already made to the device or will this auto update be just fine? I'm afraid to enable the wifi on the device if there is a preferred way for us "early adopters" to upgrade to froyo "safely"....
