Please send us recommendations to add to the list. We will review them and consider them for a future update.

what about all us consultants that work almost exclusively with small office and home office. Are we represented by Enterprise?? While small business does fit into most of the other offerings, small offices and home offices are a GREAT candidate for specific software aimed at them exclusively.
Bill never tweets about Microsoft technology. The bulk of his posts relate to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation or other non-technical, charitable causes and efforts. I was just thinking about this last week.
it's not a bad idea to keep an eye on his Twitter account in case he does get more engaged in tech again (which I expect, honestly).
this list blows... poor effort. There's no personal insigfht at all, simply looks like a twitter search result!
This list is the result of three years of looking for and finding the people on Twitter who talk about tech the most and post the most interesting stuff.
Shouldn't IT security have a place in your list? I think you have too much in the consumer electronics section. I expected this list to be all work related. I would suggest @msftsecresponse (Microsoft Security Response), @sans_isc (SANS Internet Storm Centre) or any tweets from McAfee, Panda, Symantec and such...
I like this list Jason, thank you! Would like to see enterprise broken down more if possible--even server vs. network vs. cloud--can you do this?
for me the real test is how many of these folks actually get involved in talking with their followers?
There's one thing being recognised and spouting forth but if they never respond to queries or chat then for me they've completely missed the point of twitter. I have my own list of techies that I follow that has been carefully crafted because the folks on it talk and don't just spout forth.

Thanks for the effort Jason - for anyone just starting to tweet this is a great launch list .
There are some impostors, but Apple CEO Steve Jobs is not on Twitter.
Don't you think Java would be a good part for your list? You're leaving out a huge tech community.
You know I would have been disappointed if you hadn't posted that, so thank you.

I like the format of this list better than its predecessors. Breaking the names into subject areas is useful
for principles and architechture, you can't go past @swardley / http://blog.gardeviance.org
Thank you very much for initiating this. This is a great effort. I know the list will keep growing with so many subjects to cover. I am adding a few areas on my interest
1. Artificial Intelligence
2. Computer Games
3. SQL Server
4. Business Intelligence
5. Design Patterns
6. Security
7. Computer Algorithms

Given your own recent tweets, I will be dropping YOU.
I like Ars Tech, Tech Crunch, NASA, and some individuals.
I follow bloggers that I won't mention here. I may be appalled at individual bloggers here- but I refuse to downgrade them. I am still in stunned disbelief at some of the links and blogs I have read. I always thought that TR was about balance. I have been proven wrong.
I would follow Michael Kassner, Sonja Thompson, Mark Kaelin (I do), Toni Bowers, Deb Schindler, Boxfiddler, RonKoski, Justin James, Chad Perrin, Jack Wallin, and any one who has a considered opinion to field. Those who simply regurgitate the same old crap mean little to me.

that also means you have to stomach things you don't agree with.

Because many would prefer not something like "Eating dinner".."Washing hands".."paid the bill".."Didn't forget to tip"...

but here's someone who should be on your list but isn't:
Christina Tynan-Wood (http://twitter.com/#!/xtinatynanwood). Writes Family Tech column for Family Circle magazine, author of the Geek Girlfriends blog and How to Be a Geek Goddess (No Starch Press).

Jay Rosen teaches journalism at NYU. His profile says he "direct the Studio 20 program there, critique the press and try to grok new media. I don't do lifecasting but mindcasting on Twitter."
I tripped over him on Twitter and think he posts some very interesting things, many with links.
