I love Jorte. If you haven't, you should give it a try.
If your interested in JUST an on-Sceen, Home Screen, 1 month Calendar
of each month, for the year..... YOU may find S2 Calendar Widget the BEST!

Simple, not overly complicated with a lot of settings, nor giving displays that YOU don't want,
just a simple monthly reference Calendar -- Try the S2 Calendar Widget.

It took me over 2-3 days of constant looking for a SIMPLE on-screen, 1 month Calendar App!
Wow, what a pain... everyone wants to give you overkill, when you just want a Simple Calendar?!!

Yet, S2 has a Nice look to it, some customization, simple, no frills look on the home screen Calendar!
Hope this saves others some of the time it took me, to find a just a monthly calendar, as a Droid app.

I also found Jorte, for use on my Motorola Motoblur Phone,,,, very impressive Calendar!
Has great to do, task mgr., event listing capabilities, PIM mgr App... is just great as well!
Allows a lot of customization, choices, and integration... Is also my 1st choice for something more complicated.
Hope this helps others....

No matter how flashy and cute the new apps look, there's always 'something' that's missing. Something isn't quite right. And it's off to the next app to see if THAT one has all the features I want. Unfortunately, I have never found an application that actually does what I envision.

Here's what I'm focused on today. I want a simple, easy to use calendar. This should be touch-screen active. It should have a tap to enter a new event, with a menu to stretch the event over time. The user should be able to simply long-tap to stretch by dragging. This should highlight the selected time-frame.

Menu items include view of day, week, month, sync with other calendar apps such as MS Office, Outlook, Google, etc.

Is this too much to ask? Anyone want to take this on? : )

I like the Business Calendar app...touch screen and drag/drop in paid version. I downloaded the paid version as the Amazon free app of the day...kinda pricey @ $5 if you buy.

I was a big fan of PI, but I recently found Timewise app. It is for Android only right now I think. It is much more simplified and easier to use than the PI, and there is a way to enter "sporadic" events, which is what sold me. It also has voice recognition! I dont know how much it is becuase right now it is a beta version..I will buy anyways. I used it to enter in my daughters softball schedule and it was a snap! Like I said, I am hooked on this one!!

Bi-weekly events
pdp-8 29th Nov 2011
I have a Samsung Gio Galaxy and the calender app that come with it does not show events that occur ever two weeks, even if it has been entered in google calendars.

I tried a couple of other highly rated calendar apps with the same result.

I am just tried aCalendar and these events show up, even thought they still do not show up in the original calendar app.

lols, I've been searching for like the whole morning and it's funny how I actually found my dream calendar through one of above comments. By navigating to a different app via the widget that agirardello recommended. I can't find a similar calendar widget after I changed launcher (using Go launcher previously that had a Go Calendar Widget). And finally, the one that gives the monthly view, and when click on, changes to daily task view. None of the so-called "simple widget" seem to provide this feature. It's pretty important to me since I've a bad memory. Some may say a task organizer will do a better job but I really prefer to have a full view of calendar to see what I've planned for the whole month. So I guess, Android Pro Widgets is my light.

Android Pro Widgets

Thank you so much, this is exactly what I was looking for. A simple calendar widget that:
1) lets me add an event right from the widget, without re-directing me to another part of the program (saves time)
2) AND it still integrates with the stock calender
3) it lets me go to different months within in the widget and then back to todays date (again saving time)
4) and for the upgrade fee I can see my events (written out) from the monthly calender view, that's nice to have but I don't really need it.

This app is a keeper for me...thanks all
I came across a new stylish and intuitive calendar app called DigiCal.

1. The IU actually looks nice and is easy to use
2. The built-in location search makes it easy to add a location in an event
