Windows 7 doesn't have that Life Expectancy

At the 2 year mark there should be a Major Patch commonly called a Service Pack released and at the 4 year mark a New Development of the OS. In the past this meant that the Current OS was renamed from Vista to 7 so you should expect a life of about 4 years of current production of 7.

Add in a couple of more years of support so you should expect a life of about 6 years all up.

Kind of hard if you buy it with a new system 2 days before M$ introduce their new OS which should be in about 18/20 months time but even then who would willingly accept Planned Obsolesce so quickly when it's expected that the computer that it comes preinstalled on should last 5 years?
