Its awesome working for such a company, they treat you as a valued asset.
I miss being a rock star in a company. But working in a support role has it's benefits as well. You get to fly under the radar and stay out of the political fray. I do not miss that *at all*.
We are a network of social development agencies working among dispersed and disadvantaged communities. Each network partner independently works in one of the specialized functional domains of economic, educational, environmental and health interventions, coordinating activities when working within a community. The tech initiative is yet another network partner, eCubeH Research Labs, which applies its Common Appropriate Technology Platform to serve the needs of its network partners.
But tech is not intended purely an 'enabler' for these social agencies, we view tech itself as a social intervention. We use only FOSS in our environment, and promote its social benefits across the communities where we work.
