Poor implementation
If M$ wants to improve the shell experience they should use things that work. Things that people are familiar with. I invision a shell that will take 100% of the commands that worked with DOS. It would also be POSIX compliant. They did do a good job of mapping "del" and "rm" to the same command. This is the idea. Make it so you could run a BASH script just as easily as a BAT file.

My biggest complaint with the crazy long form commands they pull from the proverbial arse is a lack of consistancy. For example sometimes different words are separated by a hyphen "Remove-Item" and other times the words are jammed together like "ThisCommand-IsWayTooLong" with no solid pattern that I have seen. What a cludge.
