Just like anything else . . .
Cloud-based computing needs redundancy for reliability, as does everything else. Anyone who thinks "Oh, I stuck all that in the cloud, so I don't have to worry about it any longer," is doing something wrong. This doesn't mean the "cloud" solution is bad; it means it has the same problem as everything else, in that any single point of failure means a failure can be catastrophic.
