I dislike Windows because I have bought 10 licences XP Pro (7) and XP Home (3).Now since I am continually correcting hardware problems, many caused by Security Software vendors dropping malware onto my computers during an 'update.' Malware seems to be sent more and more by rats that, on finding nothing of value to steal, drop destructive malware onto the system aimed at killing hard drives. I have a box of them to prove my point.
To get back to the licence issue I am able to use two of these licences because I have updated machine hardware and could not get the software validated. I have scrapped computers and disposed of the separate parts according to good practice and then on building a new machine from scratch have not been able to load and validate one licence. So who are the pirates?
I use open source for another reason and that is it does all I need it to do with a few exceptions like running AutoCAD etc, who think everybody is American and fundamentally flawed. After half a lifetime working with Americans in the OIL Industry they score 0.001% as honest 0.0001% on being genuine. America you cannot even accept that it was American companies that blew up the rig in the Gulf of Mexico; BP was paying them for their expertise.
I do not use free software; I use software that some special people have written and offered it to me. I make occasional donations, although being retired, not as much as I would were I even able to do a part-time job. Altruistic is the definition you use for that type of generosity. Sure they are getting something out of it; they are honing their skills and exciting their marvellously logical minds. I want God to bless them, not politicians and not Microsoft shareholders; but He has my request to bless Microsoft ???GENUINE??? employees.
You enjoy MS as much as you like; but do not judge my reasons for using open source software (which happens to be free). America is fast becoming third world because of companies like Microsoft and Dell and HP and so on. This is what they think of America???s citizens: ???let???s take our manufacturing to China ~ it???s cheaper than feeding these overweight punters we have here in the States.??? We got the same from Maggie Thatcher!!!!
If you are Americans writing your ****, then remember this America. I take my impressions of America and Americans from TV news and stupid Hollywood films that I switch off after reading the titles.
To all Americans who are genuine, without having to ask Microsoft???s opinion, I am sorry for speaking of your country like this; but it is the predominant impression given out by your government, Hollywood imbeciles and your gung-ho military.
