Piggy back refactoring
Hands up how many of us have changed a bit of code to make it more comprehensible (possibly to a wider audience than ourself silly ) without explicitly suggesting to management that some of the earmarked reso8urces were not spent exactly as they thought they should be.

Tony strains his arm attempting to touch the sky...

Never heard a manager disagree with writing comprehensible code, never heard one agree to expend their limited resources on doing it when no other change is planned.

Of course the best example of entropy in action, is a legacy code base. sad
